LRQA provides a world class assessment and certification service in Quality Management Systems and Environmental Management Systems backed by expertise and training from its Training Services business. Its accredited scope covers design, manufacture, repair, installation, Distribution, project management and service activities across a wide range of industrial and commercial organisations.

LRQA has been undertaking QMS certification since 1986, when it became the first organisation to achieve accreditation in the UK. It holds the complete 39 scopes that it is possible to audit and certify against, as defined by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS), for the ISO 9000 series of quality management systems. Currently LRQA is accredited in the UK, America, Australia, Germany, France, Italy, Holland, Brazil, Japan, Korea, Canada and New Zealand. Software development is also within LRQA's scope, under the DTI TickIT scheme.

A further first was achieved when LRQA became accredited to offer worldwide environmental certification in March 1995. This was closely followed by it being appointed as an environmental verifier under the European Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS). LRQA has since certified or verified some of the world's largest companies who wish to adopt a high profile and responsible approach to environmental issues.

To date LRQA has approved in excess of 10,000 organisations and continues to lead the field in international certification with a track record and breadth of experience that is second to none.
